Sylvia Electrical Contracting offers this information on the importance of correct and proper installation of hot tubs and spas.
Electrical
Safety Requirements for Spa Installations: The installation of all spas
must be in accordance with national and local wiring rules. Always have a
licensed Electrician perform the electrical installation. Every spa is
manufactured and tested to a standard that provides maximum protection
against electrical shock. Improper wiring may prevent the spa from operating
safely which could result in electrical shock, injury, or death. Improper
wiring could also lead to a malfunction of the spa’s equipment and risk of
fire. When considering a location for your spa, consult with a licensed
Electrical Contractor. Let a Boston electrician hook you up.
Water and electricity are a deadly combination. More often then not there is not a second chance when electrocution occurs. Your family should be your number one priority. Contact a qualified electrical contractor at Sylvia Electrical to discuss any of the following. Let us help you enjoy your spa or hot tub!

Appliance Circuits
Dedicated circuits are required by the National Electrical Code, but what
are they? The code requires that every fixed appliance must be served by a
separate, dedicated circuit, not shared by any other appliance.
A
dedicated circuit is defined as - a circuit that serves only that appliance.
These appliances include refrigerators, freezers, electric range, electric
water heaters, furnaces, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, and
garbage disposals. And don't forget about heat pumps, sump pumps, and air
conditioners.
If you've ever had a major appliance connected to the same circuit as
another and a circuit breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown, then it is
time to have a qualified, licensed electrician add an appliance circuit.
